Pater Noster

Vocal by James Locke,

and The Voices of Music Sacra, directed by John Kendall Bailey

After having failed his examination for ordination TWICE, because the tests were in Latin, Vianney has come to the end of the road. He knows his Theology very well, but he simply cannot not translate the questions.  However, France is in dire need of priests because nearly 1000 had been executed, or capitulated to the French Revolution.  As a last resort, seminarian John Vianney was asked to pray the Lord’s Prayer, in Latin, to pass his examination for ordination.  As he prays, he is joined by a choir of angels!
