In 1979, I invented a table top baseball game, BASEBALL CHALLENGE.  The playing board was a replica of a baseball field.  I showed the game to Bill Rigney, long time Major League Baseball Player and Manager.  When “Rig” saw how the game simulated real baseball, including Pitching, Hitting, Fielding, Base Running, even Weather Conditions, he said, “John, you’ve got something here!”

With Bill’s approval, I took the game to market.  BASEBALL CHALLENGE was sold in Street and Smith’s Baseball Yearbook, Baseball Digest, and several other sports magazines.  In the early 1980s, I teamed up with the Oakland A’s, and did promotion with them!

I only mention this because I still get many contacts through this website from my old buddies. It amazes me that I get new contacts asking if the game is still available.  Yes, it still is!
