GOLDEN OLDIES
Before I morphed from songwriter to composer, I wrote hundreds of songs ranging from Ballads, Pop, Country, Novelty Songs, Love Songs, Songs for my Family and Friends, Boogie, and even Christmas Songs.
In those days, I was a “one-man garage band”. I sang and played my Yamaha Baby Grand piano, Fender Rhodes keyboard, ARP String Ensemble, guitars, synthesizer, and a few other random instruments. I actually turned my garage into a home recording studio.
This was long before digital recording, so I had to use microphones, equalizers, compressors, mixing boards, and anything else I could find to record a song. My good old reel-to-reel tape decks, a TEAC 3300 for Mastering and a TEAC 3340 4-track deck, let me bounce tracks so I could get as many tracks as I needed… but at the expense of sound quality. It’s a whole lot easier now!
ON THIS PAGE, I’d like to share some of those old home studio demos from the ‘60s, ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s.
PLEASE check out my “GOLDEN OLDIES”. You might get a kick out of them.
