God had a plan. With the fall of Man in the Garden of Eden, God told Satan, “I will put enmity between you and the woman.” In God’s time, He revealed His plan. He chose a young virgin in her teens to work with Him in order to execute His Plan. The girl’s name was Mary. (Luke 1:27) One day, as Mary was in her home in Nazareth, God sent the angel Gabriel with a message for her. Gabriel said, “Rejoice, O highly favored daughter! The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women.” Mary was confused; but, the angel said, “Do not be afraid for you have found favor with God.” The angel went on to explain how God chose Mary to bear His Son by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Luke 1:28-35) God’s Plan was contingent on one very important detail. Mary had to freely consent to it. Because Mary was “full of grace”, she was in total compliance with the Will of God. At the moment when Mary said, “I am the handmaiden of the Lord. Be it done unto me according to Thy Word.” (Luke 1:38) - she conceived! For Christians, that may have been the most significant moment in the history of the Universe. The Church has long remembered that event with a prayer known as “The Angelus.” Mary’s “Yes.” is the inspiration behind Angelus Music. We long to do what Mary did; to bring Christ into an ungodly world.
The Angelus The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary, and she conceived of the Holy Spirit. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. “Behold the handmaid of the Lord. Be it done unto me according to Thy Word.” Hail Mary ……… And the Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us. Hail Mary ……… Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Let us pray. Pour forth; we beseech Thee O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts. That we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel! May by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection, through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen. click here to listen the overture ( 5.81MB file) ©2005 by Angelusmusic.com |
